The classic flute duo-Helene Simonsen and Isabella Hübener-meets jazz bassist Mads Vinding in a beautiful association where the bright nature of the flutes gets the soundboard of the warm and rich bass.
The trio gives the classic rigour and jazz’s free improvisation space for each other- together and separately.
We have chosen the extremes of the two worlds and challenge each other on rigour and discipline vs. playful free fantasy, laid out notation vs. free improvisation, the “classic” vs the “rhythmic”.
The repertoire consists of a.m.o. J. S. Bach, Danish, Swedish and Irish folk music, selected jazz ballads and own compositions.
Folk music is inclusive in its expression. We allow the Swedish introverted tone to counterplay with the Irish playful and virtuoso dances.
The special arrangements for this particular group make the expression quite unique. However, despite two different approaches, there is still a lot of common ground – the love of music, professionalism and curiosity to explore pristine land.
